Stage 4: Crezilles -> Longeau-Percey.

Magnesium wheeltrims:

When we were preparing this tour, we thought about taking one of the companies Vivaro’s as our broom car with us. Although we have 3 exactly the same car’s, we spotted some minor differences. One important thing, -according our opinion”-, are the looks of the car. So you can imagine, that the one with nice and shiny wheel trims was selected. Those wheel trims are made usually of magnesium, or plastic. And that is exactly the combination I would like to talk about. Just to avoid any rumours about the preparations and rules of this tour.

Other products made from plastic are for example toothbrushes, bidons and “randomly “ chosen, ampules. Yes ampules. And another stuff very intelligent bio-chemical designers made is magnesium. So ampules and magnesium. By the way: that are those blue little cylinders you might have spotted in the pictures of stage 1. Ampules with magnesium. No doctor Fuentes stuff, bought in some shadowy store in Belgium or Italy. No this Magnesium you buy from a decent sports store of the drug store. You take one ampule every day and it will keep your free from muscle cramps. And I can tell you, -as an expert in having muscle cramps by the dozen-, that this stuff works.

The Crezilles Hôtes:

These guys are constructing this hotel and you can see, that when the re-construction comes to end, it will be just perfect. The room we’ve got is a 6 person room. A double bed and 4 single beds on a vide. Very good matrasses, plenty room and a bright & shiny accommodation.

Downstairs they have a terras and a swimming pool, which we’re not going to use today to wake-up; It’pretty cold. The weather forecast is pretty well: 18 degrees, sunny. So we must bring sun protection and a lot of water with us today, to avoid de-hydration.

We started at approx. 09:45 AM. Yes, we had a good rest, a nice breakfast and we took it all slow. Starting the stage, we had a pretty tuff climb. After the climb, we had to look for an alternative course, due to an inconvenient bike lane. We have 5 GPS devices in our peloton of 5 bikers. How nice is that. Right, left, strait forward…… at the very same moment. No no, that’s just a joke. They are al loaded with the same track and the further we are in the tour the more convenient gets everybody with their brand new device.

During the day the weather is getting better and better. We passed an ALDI, where we did some shopping. “Jonge jonge jong”, these guys eat a lot of stuff. Energy bars, banana’s, cookies, please hide everything, or its gone.

The coffee stop. Wow, today that gets a 9,5 on a scale to ten. The waitress serves us the Cappucino overloaded with cream. We ordered “Tarte du jour” and surprisingly, she brought a whole Apple pie. And the Big size tube of cream, she left with us. So you can imagine, what happened with it.

Arriving at the big accumulation lake near Langres. A very nice view over the lake and also a nice panorama view of the city wall of Langres, with its beautiful Citadel on the hill.

Further on the stage towards the end destination Villegusien-le-Lac. Also a very touristic camping near the nice accumulation lake. Nice wooden chalets and they are cheap. You will pay 54 euro per night, for 6 persons. Luxury equipped, they even have a dish washer.

As usual, everybody starts doing his tasks, to get everything cleaned up and organised. Stuff and equipment all over the place, and after a couple of hours everybody is ready. Some guys are already out for shopping. We will have BBQ for dinner. It’s gonna be fun.

Tomorrow is an easy stage. Looking to the profile, it looks like a staircase. Stepping down mostly, so we will take a good rest and a late departure. We’ll take it nice and slowly to enjoy the ride as much as we can. See you tomorrow!!
